This works in Outlook. You can use Outlook , , , or Office Open an email you want to save. Select an email folder in the sidebar to the left and then double-click the email you want to save. My Yahoo email, automatically provided by ATT, sometimes refuses to allow me to open attachments. I got around this by opening a gmail account and forwarding the email with attachments to that.
Gmail allows me to open the attachment. I have had similar problems myself and have used either the rename or zip method. Using Thunderbird is a better alternative though.
